City Network, en ledande leverant\u00f6r av molntj\u00e4nster f\u00f6r it-infrastruktur, \u00e4r tillsammans med Ericsson, Red Hat och AT&T, medgrundare till Open Infrastructure Foundation som lanseras idag.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Open Infrastructure Foundation, som \u00e4r en vidareutveckling av OpenStack Foundation, kommer att st\u00f6tta flera open source-projekt f\u00f6r digital infrastruktur. Inledningsvis kommer den globala stiftelsen att st\u00f6dja fem projekt inom infrastruktur; OpenStack, Airship, Kata Containers, StarlingX, och Zuul. Ut\u00f6ver dessa kommer stiftelsen \u00e4ven att st\u00f6dja nya projekt, som OpenInfra Labs och Magma.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2013 I takt med att den digitala transformationen forts\u00e4tter blir den digitala infrastrukturen en avg\u00f6rande byggsten f\u00f6r innovation. Organisationer vill i allt st\u00f6rre utstr\u00e4ckning bygga sina tj\u00e4nster p\u00e5 en \u00f6ppen och flexibel plattform som \u00e4r redo f\u00f6r framtiden. OpenStack kommer d\u00e4rf\u00f6r \u00e4ven forts\u00e4ttningsvis att vara en viktig grund f\u00f6r detta, tillsammans med andra open source- projekt, s\u00e4ger Johan Christenson, grundare av City Network och styrelsemedlem i Open Infrastructure Foundation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

F\u00f6r att b\u00e4ttre kunna st\u00f6dja existerande projekt inom \u00f6ppen infrastruktur och f\u00f6r att skapa en grund f\u00f6r nya, kommer Open Infrastructure Foundation att samla alla projekt under ett paraply. Det finns tre syften med detta. F\u00f6r det f\u00f6rsta kommer stiftelsen forts\u00e4tta att st\u00f6dja de legala och administrativa delarna och d\u00e4rmed bygga en stark grund f\u00f6r projekt inom \u00f6ppen k\u00e4llkod. F\u00f6r det andra kommer stiftelsen att skapa uppm\u00e4rksamhet kring olika projekt och d\u00e4rmed ge fler organisationer m\u00f6jlighet att inf\u00f6ra plattformarna som en byggsten f\u00f6r sin digitala innovation. Slutligen kommer stiftelsen \u00e4ven att verka f\u00f6r att avg\u00f6rande underh\u00e5ll och utveckling sker inom de olika projekten.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2013 Open source-projekt \u00e4r grunden i det europeiska molnalternativ som vi skapar.  Som open source-f\u00f6respr\u00e5kare \u00e4r det helt sj\u00e4lvklart att b\u00e5de aktivt st\u00f6dja Open Infrastructure Foundation samt att ge tillbaka till den r\u00f6relse som \u00e4r grunden f\u00f6r v\u00e5r verksamhet, s\u00e4ger Johan Christenson.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Johan Christenson, som under flera \u00e5r har suttit i styrelsen f\u00f6r OpenStack Foundation, kommer att ta plats i den samma hos Open Infrastructure Foundations.  Jonathan Bryce, executive director f\u00f6r Open Infrastructure Foundation ser fram emot City Networks fortsatta support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2013 Visionen f\u00f6r Open Infrastructure Foundation \u00e4r att communityn ska skapa programvara som tas i drift, s\u00e4ger Jonathan Bryce. City Network \u00e4r ett utm\u00e4rkt exempel p\u00e5 en medlem i communityn som v\u00e4sentligt har bidragit till b\u00e5de utveckling och drifts\u00e4ttning av programvara f\u00f6r \u00f6ppen infrastruktur.
