Clavister Trusts Cleura to Deliver Cyber Security As a Service
The European cyber security company Clavister is committed to delivering comprehensive cyber security solutions to the European market. With more than 25 years of experience in cyber security, the company has always been at the forefront of meeting the ever-increasing demands to fight cyber threats across Europe.
Compliant cyber security cloud platform to meet future needs
To meet the demands of increased cyber threat across the region, with a European service adhering to the region's strict data laws and regulations, Clavister is adding a service platform enabling customers to purchase Cyber Security As a Service (CSaaS).
The company recently launched the first in a series of cyber security solutions with MFAaaS (Multifactor Authentication) as the first feature out, as identity is the basis of all CSAS services going forward. The first use-case is Passwordless VPN where customers can protect Clavister OneConnect users connecting to resources behind Clavister NetWall Next-Generation Firewalls. The service platform and services are all built and delivered on Cleura's cloud.
"With the growing complexity and increase in cyber security threats, organizations face severe challenges in keeping the same pace in their cyber defense work. At Clavister, we are committed to help our customers meet these challenges, not only with our technology and products but also with our people-centric cyber security expertise. Alongside providing our cyber security products in a traditional delivery model, we are now increasingly delivering our cyber security as a service. Our specialist will assume responsibility for the organization's cyber security work, as their extended cyber team," said Nils Undén, CTO at Clavister.
Our vision is to become the leading European cyber security firm. In this capacity, it's fundamental that our cloud partner shares our vision and thoughts on the importance of building European digital sovereignty, and who can be part of our growth journey. In Cleura, we have a partner that shares our vision and can grow with us across Europe
A cloud with no lock-in and minimal infrastructure dependency was critical
The Clavister CSAS consists of three layers: the digital infrastructure on which the Clavister service platform is built and multiple cyber security application services (Passwordless VPN is the first).
In the two-year digital transformation project, Clavister has worked hard to develop and build the foundation for current and forthcoming cyber security services - the service delivery platform.
The development team's work was underpinned by three principles:
- Firstly, the service delivery platform needed to be secure by design, as trust is a fundamental part of Clavister business.
- Secondly, Clavister designed the solution with minimal infrastructure dependencies and no lock-in to be truly cloud agnostic.
- Thirdly, the team put immense effort into providing best-in-class tenant separation to provide its services with the cost efficiency of the multi-tenant delivery model.
Based on these priorities, choosing the right digital infrastructure provider was a key requirement. It was clear to Clavister that they needed a partner that built its services on open standards to avoid lock-in. Furthermore, they needed a partner that enabled stringent and accurate adherence to European data laws and regulations.
Built on open stack and providing organizations with an open and flexible cloud rooted in Europe, Cleura's cloud was the best match for Clavister.
"Our vision is to become the leading European cyber security firm. In this capacity, it's fundamental that our cloud partner shares our vision and thoughts on the importance of building European digital sovereignty, and who can be part of our growth journey. In Cleura, we have a partner that shares our vision and can grow with us across Europe," said Nils Undén.
Cleura enables growth possibilities across Europe
Clavister runs the platform and services on Cleura's public cloud from its cloud nodes in Sweden. With growing customer demands from countries starting in the Nordic region and Germany, Clavister will grow with Cleura to its cloud node in Frankfurt.
"Through the transformation, it has been great working with the team at Cleura. Their open, flexible, and truly European cloud has proven to be a perfect platform for building the next generation of cyber security services," Nils Undén comments.
He concludes. "We look forward to a long and fruitful collaboration with Cleura and its cloud as the delivery platform. A partnership that will ultimately benefit our customers in their day-to-day cyber protection work."
