City Network – a leading European provider of infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) based on OpenStack, today announced that automotive embedded electronics expert Vector has chosen City Networks IaaS City Cloud. Based in Germany with subsidiaries across the world, Vector supports manufacturers and suppliers in the automotive industry and related sectors with a professional platform of tools, software components and services for developing embedded systems. With City Cloud as their primary choice of IaaS, Vector will deliver its new cloud services to the automotive industry.
– We are constantly looking at improving our services to our clients. With City Cloud as platform, we are able to rapidly deliver our solutions and services to our automotive customers by a business model that aligns investments with project requirements, said Michael Vogel, Business Development Manager at Vector. The fact that City Cloud has a readiness to fulfil EU-regulations tied to flexible IT-infrastructure, and their global reach were the key reasons why we choose to use their platform.
Initially, Vector will run City Cloud from Frankfurt and New York, and from 1st of January 2017 they will also utilize Tokyo.
– Vector is a great example of how a company can leverage City Cloud to innovate, enhance or transform its own offering, said Johan Christenson, CEO and founder of City Network. Almost all companies are part of the digital transformation shaking and changing the very foundation that they are built on. We see a lot of examples of traditional companies transforming parts of, or their entire offer to a cloud based model, where increased innovation is a must to stay relevant.
