Cleura Compliant Cloud
What is Cleura Compliant Cloud?
Cleura Compliant Cloud is a highly secure, European cloud platform for innovation, designed for mission critical data and applications. It combines Swedish entrepreneurship and a deep understanding of enterprise-grade security and regulatory compliance to deliver trusted, scalable and future-proof cloud services.
Experience hyperscaler power from Sweden to accelerate your digital transformation while keeping complete control of your data.
European & Open Source
Cleura Compliant Cloud is built on robust hardware and open source technology for agile, competitive solutions. Enjoy complete control and seamless scalability - no vendor lock-in.
Secure & Compliant
Hosted in Swedish data centers and managed by EU staff only. Adhering to Europe’s strictest standards, Cleura Compliant Cloud ensures secure, compliant, and future-proof IT.
Cleura are Swedish cloud pioneers, launching Sweden's first public cloud in 2009. At a time of increasing hyperscaler dominance and growing concerns over European digital sovereignty, Cleura Compliant Cloud was born to meet customer demands for something new: a European, sovereign cloud that offers all the power of innovation found in a hyperscaler cloud.
We built Cleura Compliant Cloud to give modern organisations a digital advantage without giving up control of their innovation to third country jurisdictions.
Cleura is certified according to the international standard for information security and has a strict focus on compliance. Organisations accross the EU rely on Cleura Compliant Cloud to harness the full potential of the cloud while complying with the GDPR, NIS2 and other regulations.

Private cages
All the physical hardware that makes up Cleura Compliant Cloud is locked in private cages within each data center. We only use Tier-3 data center partners who offer multi-layer security zones, dedicated access controls, and who offer MSB Class 3 protection for our equipment.
OpenStack
Cleura Compliant Cloud is built using OpenStack, one of the largest and most active open source projects in the world. OpenStack is the open source cloud computing standard to support virtual machines, container and bare metal workloads.
Hardware & software
Cleura Compliant Cloud is built on the same core values as that of Cleura Public Cloud, but with additional levels of security in the way we configure the hardware and software as well as manage access to assets and resources.
Data center
Cleura only chooses data center partners who can live up to internationally recognised standards for cybersecurity and the environment. These are all modern data centers with strict physical access controls, certified under ISO 27001 and 14001.
Fit for mission critical
We use data centres with enhanced perimeter protection systems, backup systems and other safeguards for mission-critical applications and data.
Availability zone
An availability zone is a distinct data center with its own redundant power, networking, and connectivity.
Interconnected
Our availability zones are interconnected by high-bandwidth, fully redundant, low-latency fiber networks. This ensures that your workloads can seamlessly shift between zones without compromising performance. Running applications across multiple availability zones enhances scalability, improves uptime for mission-critical workloads, and delivers uninterrupted services to end-users.
Availability zones
Use Compliant Cloud as one cloud region, while relying on the capacity and availability of three separate availability zones, each provided from a different data center. This allows mission critical applications and data to operate with greater continuity and scalability than any single data center could provide.
Cloud region
The new generation of Cleura Compliant Cloud runs in a cloud region consisting of 3 availability zones. Each availability zone runs in a separate data center. This enables deployment of services and applications with superior availability. High business continuity is essential to secure mission-critical applications and contributes to compliance with regulations such as NIS2 and DORA.
Independent cloud regions
Cleura's cloud regions are independent of each other. You are free to create and interconnect services between cloud regions and retain full control over your deployments. Cleura will never, on its own initiative, transfer data outside the cloud region where you first stored your data.
Scalability and security
Cleura Compliant Cloud works, looks and operates just like a public cloud without being open to the public. Using Cleura Compliant Cloud requires a dedicated service agreement, and logical access goes through a dedicated secure entry gateway which only accepts the IP ranges you have specified. A governance setup ensures your compliance needs can be met over time.
Background checked EU personnel
Only background checked personnel in the EU are given access to Cleura Compliant Cloud, and we apply enhanced access controls and logging.
This is the European Cloud
A fully-fledged cloud infrastructure built with open source technology, available from certified data centre providers and delivered in accordance with European law and values.
So that your business has the freedom to innovate securely with a solid foundation for its regulatory compliance.
Cleura Public Cloud and Compliant Cloud are separate multi-tenant, fully scalable clouds. Customers can sign up to Public Cloud online, and the multi-tenancy is shared between those customers. Compliant Cloud requires a dedicated signed agreement and the multi-tenancy is only shared between Compliant Cloud customers.
