Cleura, the European Cloud, has expanded its suite of digital infrastructure services by launching a container orchestration engine, now available on Cleura Cloud. Powered by the open-source Gardener platform, the service is critical in Cleura’s efforts to deliver digital infrastructure that meets the needs of European organizations and promotes digital sovereignty in the region. The container orchestration engine is available immediately to all Cleura Cloud users.
“I am excited to announce our container orchestration engine, a key addition to the European cloud. The service will enable Cleura customers across Europe to leverage the advantages of a modern digital infrastructure platform built, delivered, and managed by a true European entity”, said Johan Christenson, VP of innovation and founder of Cleura.
Gardener is an open-source tool for managing multiple isolated Kubernetes clusters on various infrastructure providers. It allows for automated provisioning, scaling, and maintenance of Kubernetes clusters and enables developers to focus on building and deploying applications rather than managing the underlying infrastructure. In Cleura Cloud, Gardener simplifies the creation and management of Kubernetes clusters, allowing organizations to quickly create container clusters through the company’s user-friendly Cleura Cloud Management Panel or API. Cleura runs the entire control plane, including upgrades of both Kubernetes releases and machine images, enabling customers to focus on deploying applications.
“We have previously provided other solutions to enable container technology, including Magnum. Cleura’s customers can now leverage compliant and managed Kubernetes directly from our control panel. Along with our public, private, and compliant cloud services, our container orchestration engine and additional digital infrastructure services meet the EU’s needs to increase our digital sovereignty and improve Europe’s digital space’s robustness”, Johan Christenson continues.
