What is included in Cleura Managed Database
Database management
Management of your database software and configuration. This also includes capacity management and user rights management.
Backups
We manage the databases backups including installation and configuration of a backup service based on your requirements.
Monitoring
Monitoring of the database management system, backups, operational system and Cleura cloud resources is included in the service. We execute monitoring using centralised monitoring and management applications and monitored processes, and automated monitoring is delivered on a 24/7/365 basis.
Security updates
We install the latest security updates for our database management system to enhance its protection against potential vulnerabilities, ensure data integrity, and maintain compliance with industry security standards.
Reporting
We provide regular reports to inform about changes in the scope of providing the service e.g. security updates, resources threshold optimization and other relevant information.
Add-on services
Add-on services for deployment and architectural design that can be added to the Cleura Managed Database service. Our add-on services are charged according to our hourly rate for Professional Services.
Database deployment includes the configuration of a hosting environment and installation, and configuration of the database server(s). The installation and configuration of the database solution are based on best practices in combination with your system requirements.
The service includes establishing the optimal security model based on modern security standards while also taking your needs into consideration. Post-deployment automation of standard optimization, maintenance, and backup routines are also part of this delivery.
We can provide architectural design of your database solution. Normally, we do this in two stages:
First, an analysis of your system demands and prerequisites is performed in collaboration between us. This is to allow us to capture a full picture of any system that utilizes the database(s). The in-depth analysis includes analyzing workload demands, estimated number of transactions at any given point in time, amount of concurrent database connections and the size of the transactions. All this input (including any additional benchmarking performed during pre- design, Test or QA environment that emulates approximate workloads) will be the base for us to determine the optimal resource dimensioning and resource allocation for your managed database service.
Second, we design and implement an optimal database system solution together with a corresponding compliant security model and security mechanisms.
