City Network, the leading European cloud service supplier, announced today that the company’s office collaboration and productivity tool, Compliant Office, has been recommended in the “Digital collaboration platform for the public sector” report (Sw: Digital samarbetsplattform för offentlig sektor). Compliant Office is a complete office suite that includes e-mail, team chat, online meetings and document management with built-in regulatory compliance.
The report was published today and was prepared by the eSam collaboration program, which comprises representatives from government authorities, municipalities and other public administrations. The expert group has tested and evaluated a number of different office suites that comply with the public sector’s security, regulatory and functionality requirements. The project is a direct result of announcements earlier this year by the Swedish Enforcement Authority and Swedish Tax Agency that they are planning to actively consider alternatives to Microsoft Teams as a collaboration platform.
“The ecollaboration program’s (eSam) study is important from several perspectives. Firstly, it very clearly shows that the issues of privacy and legal and regulatory compliance are important to the public sector. Moreover, it identifies many different alternatives to the dominant American services. Most importantly, the overview makes it easy for municipalities and authorities to actually chose European alternatives, which in turn enables Sweden to overcome its unhealthy dependence on a small number of providers,” comments Johan Christenson, CEO and founder of City Network.
Compliant Office is a complete office suite, with e-mail, calendar, online meetings, chat, storage and document management. The cloud service is provided through City Network’s IT infrastructure solution, Compliant Cloud from secure and certified data centers, scoped in rigorous processes to comply with local and European data protection laws and regulations.
Information in Compliant Office is securely stored and processed within the EU, managed only by City Network, a European entity, and administrated only by personnel who have undergone background checks in accordance with national data protection laws, such as the Protective Security Act in Sweden.
